Equine-Oriented Summer Camp in Collaboration with The Ohio State University

In July of 2025, Therapy Strides proudly introduced an innovative pilot program in partnership with The Ohio State University Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic. The unique summer camp offered children a dynamic approach to speech and language therapy, integrating nature and equine interaction as powerful therapeutic tools.

During the 20-hour summer experience, children received collaboratively-designed speech-language pathology (SLP) services that supplemented their therapeutic goals. Licensed and certified Speech-Language Pathologists, supported by OSU graduate students, delivered specially designed interventions in an engaging equine environment.

Camp Experience

  • Equine-based small-group and individual therapy sessions delivered by SLPs who were supported by OSU graduate students

  • Collaboratively designed and collaboratively delivered equine-themed interventions that supported each camper’s current IEP goals and objectives

Therapy Strides is proudly working alongside The Ohio State University in the Speech and Language field to further advance equine-facilitated therapy

Now, with the support of OSU, Therapy Strides is eager to expand therapy offerings in the near future, including additional camp sessions and individual therapy services.
